

Elder Earnest McGilvery, Jr. was born October 27, 1927 in the home of Earnest and Willie McGilvery, Sr.
He attended the public school in Powell, Texas (Navarro County), and was raised in Corsicana, Texas.
He moved from Corsicana to Dallas, from there to Denison and then to Fort Worth.
While there he found a young woman by the name of Ida Burton and from this union seven children were born, four sons and three daughters.
Later in life, he met and married Margaret Ann Bennett from this union on son was born Earnest McGilvery III.
He moved to Fort Worth, Texas being self-employed, he was a well-known cement contractor, being a hardworking man his business did flourished.
Working all over the metroplex area and out of the city limits he could measure up and pour foundations that were perplexed by many.
Being self-employed he was able to give employment to those that were unemployed.
He knew how to treat people, being a humble man he had a heart for people, so kind and good-hearted, he was a provider wherever there was a crisis he was always there to give a solution.
Being called by God he was instrumental in laboring with a dear friend elder Carl Cornelius, Jr. at the joy Ground Tabernacle Church of God In Christ.
However, the lord led him in another direction to Pastor. The church was organized in the home of the late Mother Janie Blunt, and the late Mother Alice Johnson on Leuda St. in Fort Worth then Robert St, Ash Crescent, Harvey Ave, to 1313 E Marion Ave and it is yet spiritually alive today in August 6, 2022.
From the movement of God several churches were birth out of this prolific ministry.

Elder Earnest McGilvery Jr, also serviced in the Progressive District for over twenty years under the leadership of the Late Supt. G.W. Pope.
Elder McGilvery also served in the Stop Six District for over twenty years under the leadership of Supt. C. R. beard until he was unable to attend the services.
He earned the nickname The Eveready Preacher, because he was ready to preach at all times, he loved having sprit-filled services he will truly be missed.
Elder Earnest McGilvery Jr., departed this earthly life on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. His favorite scripture was: Psalms 133: 1 Behold how good and pleasant it is to dwell together in unity.
Elder McGilvery Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest McGilvery, Sr., Willie Reese, Edna Mae Barlow, Juanita Davis, Elder John McGilvery, Elder David Thompson, and Jessie James McGilvery.
He leaves to cherish his memory
His wife Margaret McGilvery , His Children Earnest McGilvery III, Minister Alvin McGilvery, Edsel McGilvery, Frank McGilvery, Frank McGilvery, Ida Mae Smith, Earnestine, Juda Mae McGilvery, Lolita Wilson, Quentina Wilson. Forty-Nine grandchildren Ninety—Eight Great Grandchildren, Eighteen Great Great Grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
