Jeepie received her nickname early in life from her father and it stayed with her her whole life. She was nicknamed after the “Jeep” character and doll from the Popeye & Olive Oyl cartoon. She was raised as the only child of her parents, but was always surrounded by her extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. Because she loved talking on the phone, everybody could expect regular calls from Jeepie. She later became known as the glue that held the family together. She relished in hosting the annual Christmas gathering for the family and hosted many of the family wedding and baby showers.
She made a career as the office manager for Dr. Edward Guinn. She always looked back fondly on her time in his office.
She was a devoted mother to her only son, Warren Lee Hutson, who was born February 12,1956 and passed away in 2009. She could always be found rooting him on whether he was skiing, snowboarding, riding his horse or riding bulls in the rodeos.
Jeepie was known for her wonderful cooking and baking, often with vegetables she grew in her own garden. She took many meals to neighborhood ladies and called it “meals on heels”. She became friends with Dennis late in her life and he was a true blessing to her with the morning visits that included coffee and cinnamon rolls. She often forgot his name but we always knew who she was referring to as “the man who runs”.
Jeepie loved cats and dogs. At one point in her life, she bred Siamese and Himalayan cats. This fixation with the two breeds of cats led to having 23 newborn kittens in her house at one time. She adored her 2 dogs “Jock” and “Pepe” who are both deceased. She allowed Pepe to be adopted and moved to New York to assure he had a home she believed in.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son. She is survived by a host of loving family members left to cherish her memory.
