Ernest Eugene “Gene” Sessom, 92 yrs old, of Fort Worth Texas, passed away peacefully with family on May 7, 2018.
Gene was born on September 14, 1925. He was married to Shirley Sessom for 66 years before she passed in 2013. He served his country honorably and nobly during World War II in the US Army as a Corporal with the 32nd mechanized Cavalry 3rd Army in the European Theatre of operations; he also performed the duties of driver, gunner and radio operator of the Light Tank Crewman. Gene was an electrician, foreman and loved farming. He was an all around person with interests in hunting, fishing, gardening, an avid sports fan, and music. He could tell the best stories and his laugh was contagious! He enjoyed going to Johnny High on Saturday nights with the love of his life and his grandkids and listening to country music.
Ernest is survived by his children, Cole Sessom of Nacadoches, Texas and Sherry Hamlin of Ferris, Texas; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
