Eunice Hosana Drye, 83, of Benbrook, TX, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2025. She was born on June 25, 1941, in Rajagaluh, Majalengka, Indonesia. Eunice was the beloved daughter of Mr. Ho Ie Soen and Mrs. Ong Sioe Ing, as well as the cherished wife of Karl Friedrich Drye.
Eunice attended high school at Hwa Chiao Secondary School in Bandung, graduating in 1961. She then obtained a Bachelor of Theology degree at South East Asia Bible College (Seminari Alkitab Asia Tenggara, or SAAT) in 1965. Following her graduation, God called her to engage in pioneer work in Padang from 1965 to 1973, where the Kalam Kudus Christian Church and School are now located.
After her time in Padang, Eunice spent two years at New Zealand Bible College in Auckland from 1974 to 1976, earning a Diploma and a Certificate in Missionary Studies. Upon returning to Indonesia, she served as an evangelist for Gereja Kristen Indonesia (Indonesian Christian Church) of West Java, located on Jalan Bungur Besar in Jakarta, from 1977 to 1983.
In 1983, Eunice moved to the United States to further her studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. She earned her Master of Arts in Religious Education in 1986. Shortly after, she met Karl Drye, and they were married on June 22, 1988.
She will be deeply missed by all who know her. Our deepest sympathy and prayers are with Eunice and Karl's extended families. May the Lord heal, comfort, and strengthen the family during this difficult time.
