Freddie FOOTMAN, age 85, of Duncanville, Texas passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020 to live in eternal rest. Freddie was born March 24, 1935 in Jewett, Texas. She confessed her faith in Jesus Christ early in life. After graduation, Freddie briefly attended business school, and lived in Houston and Fort Worth, Texas. Freddie worked for over 25 years as a warehouse supervisor and sales clerk with the Army and Air Force Exchange Service until her retirement in 2000.
Freddie loved the Lord, her family and church. In 1957, she net and married the love of her life, Robert Footman. Freddie and Robert spent the first 18 years of their 63 year marriage living and traveling throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. In 1975 , Freddie and Robert decided to settle down in Fort Worth, Freddie continued to have a desire to explore new places which she fulfilled by taking family trips. Over the years, Freddie was a surrogate mother to her nieces, Ruth Jackson and Hershel McDonald, and family friend, Ruth Hill. She was a fun and loving grandmother to Craig and Robert Gant, and a surrogate grandmother to Angie Jackson, Malcolm Jackson, Billie Jean McDonald, Therron McDonald, Sr. and Gregory Hill, Jr. She greatly adored all her nieces, including Monique and Nicole Thompson.
In 1975, Freddie joined the Morningside Missionary Baptist Church (MMBC) where she was a faithful member and served as a member of the MMBC Usher Board until her illness in 2007. She appreciated the importance of the usher's responsibility to ensure that people see and experience the love of Christ.
