Gary Wayne Vaughn

Gary Wayne Vaughn, age 69, of North Richland Hills, Texas, entered into eternal rest with our Lord and Savior on July 1, 2025. Gary was born on August 6, 1955 in Fort Worth, Texas, to Lawrence B. and Mary Louise (Baumgardner) Vaughn.

Gary grew up in North Richland Hills and graduated from Richland High School. Soon after graduation, he began working for GTE/Verizon. Gary took great pride in his work, was a steadfast employee and retired after 40 years of dedicated service.

Gary had a passion (to put it mildly) for antique cars and new cars as well. Among his vast collection were: a 1957 Bel-Air Chevrolet; a 1932 Ford Roadster; a 1955 “3100 Big Window” truck; a 2022 Dodge “Hellcat” wide-body; and finally a supercharged Ford F150 “Roush Edition”.

Gary also enjoyed antique hunting through the years. His home is full of antique memorabilia both inside and outside. His great love of nature and gardening is evidenced by his beautiful front and back yards where he would spend countless hours caring for his many plants and vegetation.

Gary had a big heart and was very giving, and he cared about those around him. He was a proud father of two sons, Justin and Jason, whom he loved dearly, and very much enjoyed spending time with them.

Gary is survived by his two sons, Justin and Jason; sister, Libby Smith; nephew, David Brandt; and a great-nephew and great-great nephew and niece. He is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence B. Vaughn, and most recently his mother, Mary Louise Vaughn.

A graveside service for Gary will be held Friday, July 11, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd,Colleyville TX 76034.
