Service: A memorial service for family and close friends will be held Friday, August 3 at 2pm at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel, Fort Worth.
Gerald was born in Winfield, Texas on April 20, 1920. After his military years serving in the Navy Seabees during WWII, he returned to Fort Worth for what would be 41 years of service with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company (now AT&T.) He retired in 1982 and he and his loving wife Dottie enjoyed a wonderful few years traveling in their van throughout the United States.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Survivors: daughter, D'Wesley Kay Oakes of Dallas.
His incredible kind spirit and loving heart will be greatly missed by his family and friends who loved him very much.
