

A Celebration of life will be held at Ten o'clock Thursday at The Hills Church of Christ 6300 N. E Loop 820, North Richland Hills. The family suggest memorials be made to World Bible Translation Center 4028 Dailey Avenue, North Richland Hills, Texas 76180.
Hugh was born to Claude Elam and Sophia Elberta Hemingway Mingle on April 8, 1927, in Detroit, Michigan. He served in the Army at the end of World War II. He attended Harding College where he met his life's joy - and married her, Joy Smith. Hugh and Joy served the Lord in missions and higher education work in Germany, Austria, Michigan, Texas, and California. Hugh will be dearly missed. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, and sister, Irene Goode.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joy, four children: Tim & Karen Mingle, Beth & Dave Phillips, Bonnie & Roy Taliaferro, and Jeffrey & Veronica Mingle; 14 grandchildren: Jared Mingle, Jacob(Alisa) Mingle, Jorden Hugh (Becky) Mingle, Kara Mingle, Marijoy (Ben) Horton, David (Cristina) Phillips, Bethany (Lincoln) Smith, Tim Phillips, Emily(Tyler) Anderson, Luke Taliaferro, Kyle, Cody, AnnaLisa, and Jennifer Mingle and their mother, Lisa; 9 great grandchildren: Jared, Joshua, Jorryn Hugh, Jaeden, & Jansen Phillips, Lincoln, Evelyn Joy Horton, Will Smith, Alowyn Grace Mingle; beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
