

Ida Mae Newton-Crenshaw, a beautiful chocolate baby, was born to the loving parentage of William Louis Newton Sr. and Hattie Mae Newton on January 9, 1959. She was born and raised on the Southside of Fort Worth, TX located in Tarrant County, where she remained a lifelong resident for 66 years. Ida was known for her leadership, love, and honorable spirit. She was known to be a hard worker with her family as well as to the corporate world and a true example of Proverbs 14:23 “All hard work, rewards a profit, But mere talk leads only to poverty” Ida answered God's call to glory on October 15, 2025.
She was educated in the Fort Worth Public School Systems and later returned to complete her high school diploma with Alicia’s Christian Academy. She was devoted to customer service and was employed with Populas Financial Group aka Ace Cash Express until her health interrupted her work.
Ida at an early age came to know Christ and was an active member of Celebrate Life Fellowship FW located in Everman, TX
She met the love of her life as a high school sweetheart and later rekindled that love and married Oscar Ray Crenshaw.
Ida was preceded in death by mother Hattie Mae Newton, father William Louis Newton Sr., sister Debra Kay Newton, sister Hattie Marie Newton, sister Brenda Faye Newton, brother David Thomas, brother William “Blu” Newton Jr, brother Ronald G. Newton
Those left to cherish her memories: her son, Derrick “Deebo” Richardson Jr; her daughters LaTashia “Torie” Richardson, Shantelle “Queen” Davis, her brothers Henry Wayne “Field” Newton, Bobby Joe Newton, a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, best friends, and other relatives and friends.
