Jack and Beulah Lewis were practically inseparable. The only thing that would ever separate them was when God called one of them Home. So, it is not surprising that when Billy Jack Lewis, 93, of North Richland Hills, was called home on December 21, 2020, his loving wife, Beulah Mae Lewis, 92, of North Richland Hills, was not far behind him, on December 25, 2020.
Jack, as friends and family knew him, was born in Springfield, Missouri on October 15, 1927 to parents, Otis and Eva Lewis. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Beulah was born in Louisville, Kentucky on April 1, 1928. Her parents were James and Myrtle Spenney. Jack and Beulah were married on October 25, 1947, and were happily married for 73 years. They had two sons, William and Robert.
Jack and Beulah were loving, caring, and committed to their family and to each other. Jesus Christ was Lord of their lives, their marriage, and their family. They raised their children to know and love the Lord. Jack loved the outdoors, taking his family fishing and hunting. He was actively involved in his sons’ sports. He was an avid Texas Rangers fan. Beulah loved being involved with the family, taking care of Jack and the boys and providing a wonderful home. She was an excellent seamstress and cook. When Jack retired, they served on several committees in their church, engaged in charitable work, and enjoyed their time together. Anyone that spent any time with them would say that they were the sweetest, most precious couple.
Jack and Beulah are survived by their sons, William “Bill” Lewis, and wife, Charlene; Robert “Bob” Lewis, and wife, Sandi; as well as grandchildren, Shawn Lewis and wife, Meghan; Heather Barton and husband, Chad; Mandy Lewis; Stephen Lewis and wife, Laura; and Jennifer Lewis; along with great grandchildren, Harper, Spencer, Judah, Magdalene, and Hannah.
Due to the current COVID pandemic, rather than a memorial service, there will be a private graveside service for the family, with military honors, at 2:15 pm on January 8, 2020 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, where Jack and Beulah will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Jack and Beulah Lewis for the prayer garden at Glenview Church, 4805 N.E. Loop 820, Ft. Worth, Tx, 76137.
