Graveside service: 2 p.m. Friday in Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Fort Worth.
Jack was born in March 1932 in Fort Worth, to Chase and Edna Armstrong. He grew up in the hills and valley of the Poly area of Fort Worth. He married Marie Martin in 1952. Jack was a former truck driver for Foremost Foods before he bought his own wrecking service. He spent over 20 years as the owner of Jack Armstrong's Wrecker Service. He sold the business and went on to continue working as a salesman for International Used Trucks. After his retirement from IUT, he stayed around the company as a consultant for over five years. Jack was known as an avid left-handed bowler. He and his wife raised a family of bowlers. Marie is credited with introducing Jack to the sport and after taking him kicking and screaming the first time, he rather enjoyed it. So much so if he wasn't around Marie knew right where to look.
Jack was preceded in death by parents; three brothers; two sisters; son, Robert Armstrong; and great-grandson, Logan Ratcliffe.
Survivors: Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 63 years, Marie Armstrong; daughter, LaVerne Spracklen and husband, Londell Spencer; son, Jack Armstrong Jr.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Retta Newsome; nieces and nephews;, extended family; and many dear friends.
