

Jackie served in the United States Air Force from 1950 until 1954. Towards the end of his military service, on July 17, 1953, he married the love of his life, Loyce Virginia Sadler.
In September of 1988, he retired from the U.S. Post Office. He then spent some time working at Montgomery Wards and Fiesta Grocery. Jackie attended Stadium Drive Baptist church and was also a Master Mason of Grand Lodge of Texas, Southside #1114.
During his free time, he enjoyed repairing electronics, coaching baseball, playing guitar, singing at church and reading, but nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family.
Jackie was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Loyce Barr; father Joe Barr and mother Eva Barr; brothers, Arlington, Dillard, Willard and Cleo; sisters, Geneva Reese, Lola Johanning, and Eva Inez Henager
Jackie is survived by son, Bobby Barr (Tricia) of Burleson, Texas; and daughter, Sharon (Buzz) Pruit of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchild, Wacey (Shyanne) Pruit, grandchild, Brittney Longhofer, grandchild, Dennis (Christina) Barr and grandchild, Chelsea Boyer (Jeff), and 10 great grandchildren
A graveside service will be held at Laurel Land Memorial Park on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.
