Jake had a Heart of Gold, anyone who knew him would agree. He loved to make people laugh and there wasn’t much he wouldn’t do or say, to make that happen. He had no fear and loved to push the limits. That is how we can all rest and know……..Jake loved life, he was an individual and loved to express himself as one! He was just all around athletic. He played football and at a young age and not big stature could handle any size player. A coach from Intermediate School once said that “He could read a play like no kid he had ever seen!!” He just loved playing. He played baseball and had an arm like no one’s business! He loved to get in a pickle and 9 times out of 10, he won and scored!!
A Friend said, "He was one of the fastest super mini riders in Texas at his prime.(2001ish) Shortly after making the jump to big bikes Jake suffered a serious injury which set his career back (he broke his back), and he never recovered. Jake and I spent much time together at the local races. Though he wasn’t the type of guy you wanted to be on the bad side of, him and I were always friendly and never had any issues. Jake was one of those guys who was always really cool and people were drawn to him. It seemed as if everyone knew and wanted to be around him when we were kids at the track.
Many have lost one of the best young men out there and some have lost the best brother, son and friend!
In Jake Miller, North Texas motocross lost a son and too many of us a brother! RIP old friend, I’ll always remember Saturday night races #38 on that kx 80."
