James Ragland was born on November 20, 1936 to the parentage of the late George and Captoria Ragland in Jonesville, Texas. He attended Granger Hall Elementary School in Scottsville, TX and Pimperton High School in Marshall, TX. James accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at Strickling Springs Baptist Church in Jonesville, TX. In the 1950’s, he moved to Fort Worth where he met and married Glenadine Harris. He joined Providence Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a Deacon until his passing on June 27, 2024. James worked for Steele Mill for 40 years as an Arc Air Machinist Texas Steele until he retired. He enjoyed playing dominoes, riding motorcycles, and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and two brothers.
James is survived by his wife, Glenadine Ragland; his children, Andre Ragland, Cherise Ragland, Lawanda (Eric) Hilton, Shronda Ragland, Fran Mutcherson, and James Nicholas.
He will be greatly missed by friends and family members, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren
