Jimmy A. Madison was born on March 30, 1941 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Frank and Josephine Madison. Jimmy was a graduate of Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Texas Wesleyan University and MBA from Amberton University. After serving four years of military service in the United States Navy, Jimmy married the former Ruby Lee, his devoted wife of 54 years.
Jimmy retired as the director of business services from Tarrant County College District and later retired as the president/CEO of the Fort Worth Black Chamber of Commerce. He was an active member in the community, a member of several organizations, served on numerous boards and committees and received many awards. He was a charter member of Genesis United Methodist Church where he enjoyed serving as a lay leader and Sunday school teacher.
Jimmy will be remembered for his positive outlook, cheerful manner, mischievous grin and zest for life. He had an enormous heart, loved helping people and never met a stranger. But most of all, Jimmy treasured his family. He was an active participant in the lives of his grandchildren and was a fixture at all of their activities, events and games.
Along with his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank Madison, Joe Earl Madison and Ronald Madison; and brother-in-law Donald Jones.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Ruby Madison; son, David Madison; daughter, Sherry Madison Mann and her husband, Howard; grandchildren Grayson Mann and Michael Mann and his wife, Breanna and their daughters, Jordyn and Stevie; sisters, Carole Jones, Karen Olige and Dr. Sharon Madison; sisters-in-law, Myrtle Madison and Janet Madison; and several cousins, nieces and nephews and their families.
