Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday in Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Collins was born Aug. 14, 1927, in Vernon to Joe and Mary Collins. He was the first of six children, three brothers and two sisters. Joe was a naval veteran of World War II. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor in 1945 and served in the Marshall Islands in 1946 during the atomic bomb testing on the island of Bikini. He retired after working 31 years for the U.S. government as an FHA inspector in Dallas and was a resident of Fort Worth for 58 years.
Survivors: His loving wife of 59 years, Imogene Collins; son, Joe F. Collins Jr. and wife, Dorinda; daughter, Janice Enix; grandchildren, Joanna Collins, Travis Collins, Joe Enix and Jared Enix; and two great-grandchildren.
