

Joe L. Lee, Sr. was born November 4, 1948 to the parentage of
Fonzie and Nodie M. Lee in Shreveport, Louisiana.
A TIME FOR EVERY PURPOSE UNDER THE HEAVENS
Joe was immersed in the Christian community that would be his lifelong support from an early age. He received his formal education throughout the Shreveport area graduating from Herndon High School in 1966. Shortly after graduation Joe enlisted into the United States Army where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Service Medal. After his exemplary Army Career Joe was honorably discharged in 1975. He later relocated to Southern California where he accepted a position as a Project Manager with GTE Communications. In 1993 Joe returned to his Southern roots when he and his family relocated to Fort Worth, Texas where he continued his employment with GTE -Verizon Communications before retiring after thirty years of service.
A TIME TO LOVE
Joe Lee, Sr. was a hardworking, strong, caring family man, who was dedicated to raising his children who he deeply loved with patience, discipline, and humility. He provided his children with the strength and love that will resonate with them throughout their lives. Joe enjoyed family gatherings, and listening to Old School R&B. He was truly, “Old School Smooth,” and he had some pretty good moves on the dance floor. In his spare time, Joe loved being outdoors; he especially enjoyed visiting casinos and traveling. He also, enjoyed musical concerts, and spending time with family and friends. Joe loved life and he chose to live his to the fullest. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Joe managed his illness with strength and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. On his final day, his children who he adored more than anything else in the world surrounded him with love.

On Monday, March 21, 2022, our beloved, Mr. Joe L. Lee, Sr., was summoned from the Battlefield and Relieved of Duty. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Fonzie Lee, Sr. and Nodie M. Lee, (Brothers): Fonzie, Jr., Virgil, Johnnie D., Carr D., Conell, Jessie James, twins Eddie and Freddie, (Sister) Vergie Smith, (bonus/step Son) Reginald Johnson
A TIME TO REMEMBER
Gone, but never forgotten Joe’s precious memory will forever be cherished by his loving daughter Nicole C. Lee of Victorville, California; his two devoted son’s Joe L. Lee, Jr. of Hurst, Texas and Jonathan L. Lee of Arlington, Texas. His grandchildren, Victor, Christopher, Katanna, Makou Jr., Zhane, Ragene, Desiree, Dallas, Isaiah and little Jamir Lamont Lee, along with his sibling’s (Brother) Huey P. Lee Sr., (Sister’s), Shirley Sue Mason, Clarice Courtney, Shirley Hodge; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special thanks to Ms. Beverly Chrisley, we would like to express our deepest appreciation for all the love kindness and support that you so gracefully shared with your dear friend Joe and our family. We are eternally grateful.
