The day we separated and said goodbye
Numerous tears fell from my eyes.
The soft colors soon turned to a seemingly gray
With the endless flow of tears,
I looked away.
Knowing this was my last chance to look at you
The best qualities came out,
Through and through.
It's hard to even imagine us apart
With these deep emotions of pain
We hold in our heart.
But just knowing we'll be united
Soon one day
All the pain and anger will slowly
Melt away.
And with that last silent glance,
You said goodbye to me.
