Celebration of life: 10 AM Friday at Southcliff Baptist Church at 4100 SW Loop 820 Fort Worth 76109.
Visitation is Thursday 6-8 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Fort Worth.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers the family requests donations are made in John's memory to the Southcliff Baptist Church Singing Christmas Tree, The American Heart Association or the charity of choice.
John retired after 39 years of service from TXU. He was a deacon and a trustee at Southcliff Baptist Church. John was a choir member for over 30 years. He helped build and sing in The Singing Christmas Tree. John was a baseball coach to hundreds of boys for twenty years.
He also spent time as a Caring Hearts Volunteers at Baylor All Saints Hospital.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sandy, children, Greg and wife Melinda Harris, Mark and wife Stephanie Harris, grandchildren, Laurie, Paige, Drew, Cade and Camden Harris; who were the loves of his life. Brother Jim and wife Trisha Harris, brother-in-law Joe and wife Silene Speirs, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of special friends we call family.
