Graveside service: 2 p.m. Monday in Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery. John was born July 29, 1924, in Memphis, Tenn., to Gordon and Mary Lambert. He was a graduate of Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth and also attended NTSC in Denton immediately after the conclusion of World War II, on the GI Bill. While in high school he was very active in athletic endeavors. He also played professional baseball in the late '40s. Jack was a big, good-natured and warm-hearted person. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1984. Bowling was one of his favorite pastimes, along with gambling on race horses. During World War II, he was a radioman in the Navy Armed Guard.
He was predeceased by his parents; his youngest sister, Betty Jean Lambert; and oldest sister, Dorothy Rose Haanan. Jack's survivors cannot be limited to family members. There are many friends whose lives he touched and he was blessed to have had them in his life.
