It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Joe Bingham . A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Joe departed this world, leaving behind a legacy of love that will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew him.
Joe was happily married to Rudie for 46 "glorious" years, and he never missed an opportunity to express his deep love for her. The bond they shared was a beautiful testament to a partnership built on faith, respect, and unwavering devotion. His love for Rudie was a guiding light that illuminated their lives together and served as an inspiration to all.
A man of immense faith, Joe found strength and solace in his belief in the Lord. This unwavering faith carried him through health challenges, providing a steadfast foundation from which he drew courage and resilience.
Known affectionately as “Chatty Cathy,” Joe had a gift for conversation that brought joy to every room he entered. His ability to connect with others, share stories, and offer wisdom made him a cherished presence among family and friends. He had a big heart and loved deeply—his affection was tangible, and there was never any doubt in the minds of those he loved how special they were to him.
Family was everything to Joe. He relished every moment spent with his children and cherished time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose laughter filled his heart with immense joy. His long-winded lectures, particularly during the kids’ rebellious moments, have become cherished memories that continue to bring laughter and warmth to gatherings.
An avid gardener, Joe had a green thumb that resulted in a bounty of tomatoes, asparagus, and okra—so much that he always ensured there was plenty to share. His love for nurturing life extended beyond the garden; he was also known as the “dog whisperer,” able to train any dog that came his way. In his later years, he found joy in the company of cats, who now miss their gentle companion.
Before health challenges changed the course of his life, Joe was an enthusiastic motorcycle rider, embracing the thrill of the open road and the beauty of nature. He fulfilled a lifelong dream alongside his best buddy Dave (Bear), riding through 48 states, capturing unforgettable moments at every “welcome to” state sign along the way.
Joe was a proud generational Navy veteran, embodying the values of service and duty. A Masonic member and active participant in a Masonic riding club, he forged lifelong friendships that added to the tapestry of his rich life.
He leaves behind his "favorite daughter", Rachel (who often reminded him of this with a playful cup), his three sons, Sam, Joe, and Stephen, who carry on his legacy of love and strength. Joe was also a proud Papa to his six grandchildren—Alexis, Anthony, Eddie, Joe, Arianna, and Alexandria—and doting great-grandfather to Bonnie and Silas. Also, his siblings Donnie Sue and Shane, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Though he will be profoundly missed, Joe’s spirit will live on in the hearts of those he loved. In our memories, we will cherish his laughter, his stories, and the countless moments filled with love.
