He represented me once and I could see that he was admired by everybody around him in the courtroom.   He was one of the most personable people in the legal field and one of the most ethical people I ever encountered. He even referred  me to a friend that gave me superb legal advice and because I was Gary's friend, charged me nothing.  I wish there were more like him and I am very sad to see him go and I know he will be missed by many....

Theresa and Agnes:
I have known Gary since Mrs. Brown's kindergarten.  The Crawford's lived in College park when Theresa was born.  I remember walking home from Good Shepherd with Gary.  We were best friends through high school and he is very much a part of who I am (he may want to deny that)
I was glad and honored to be there when he was sworn in as a judge here in Montgomery County where Donna and I now live.
I am sorry that we were not able to get together more often over the last few years.
But I will treasure his wit, his smile, his dedication.
Unfortunately, I will be unable to make the event on June 7th, but my thoughts will be there.

As a very "small" player in the Rockville judicial community, Judge Crawford always made me feel very important and respected. Gary was as fine a friend and law partner as a man could have.

I observed Judge Crawford in court on many occasions.  He put serious thought into every case, no matter how minor the charges.  Unlike in so many other courts, there was no "rocket docket" in Judge Crawford's court.  You could actually count on a fair trial in his court.

Upon moving to Fort Worth, Judge Crawford immediately got involved in both the Eldon B. Mahon Inn of Court and the Tarrant County Bar Association.  He was an inspiration to us all. He spoke at multiple events, sharing the benefit of his experience with us, he mentored young lawyers, and he was always willing to lend a hand.  Gary is one of those people who reminds us that John Donne was right when he reminded us that every time the bell tolls, it tolls for each of us, as each of us has sustained a loss.  Gary's death is a shock to the legal community in Tarrant County, and he will be missed.

Agnes:  I haven't known Gary that long but I miss him.

From our days working together in student government in law school to the day of his retirement party, Gary's persona never changed. Few of us can legitimately make such a claim.  The world was such a better place for the influence of such a fine man and will be less so without him.

Agnes, I'm still trying to come to grips with this. For 50 years I always knew that Gary would be there, even though we didn't communicate nearly enough. I'm so glad that we had one last visit together in March. I have a picture of the two of us that I will treasure. I feel so bad for you. If there is anything, anything we can do, just ask.

We are all stunned to have learned of Gary's passing this morning. Though words are so inadequate, I have rarely met as fine a man or friend nor one who so willingly gave so much to so many. I am very sad to hear of his passing.  Knowing Gary both before and after he became a judge was a pleasure.  My condolences.

I was fortunate to know Judge Crawford appearing before and mediating for him in District Court.  We also volunteered for law school mediation and other competitions.  I'm so sorry to read the news of his passing.  He was a wonderful man and a wonderful Judge.

I had the pleasure of playing golf with Gary on several occasions and saw that he was an excellent golf and a great sportsman. Donny Knepper & Vlatka Tomazic remember him fondly.  He was always a pleasant person and very fair.  Vlatka and I are now married.  She is a prosecutor and I am a defense attorney.  Judge Crawford presided over the first trial that she and I had against each other in 2008.  We re-tell the story of that trial often.  Judge Crawford was a good man and were sad to hear the news of his passing.

Agnes and Theresa - I was so sorry to hear about Gary's passing this afternoon.  I will never forget the many times I spent with Gary on the golf course or on the 19th hole and there was no better man. We have lost a dear friend and colleague, an important part of our legal community. Gary personified the practice of law and the administration of justice. Always a ready resource for lawyers, judges, friends and family, Gary relished his time on the bench. His advice, support and guidance to our many law clerks was invaluable. His friendship and kindness are outweighed only by his sense of humor and his complete devotion to Agnes. I will miss him very, very, much.
