

Kathy Sue (Miller) Burt, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and devotion to family. She was born on May 8, 1957, in Hobbs, New Mexico to the late James Perry Miller and Josephine Ann (Burkman) Miller.
Kathy graduated from Southwest High School, Class of 1976, and went on to attend Tarrant County College and University of Texas at Arlington. Upon completing her education, she began her professional career as a buyer for Tandy Corporation and later RadioShack. It was at RadioShack where she met Daniel Mark Burt. Kathy and Mark were married on April 22, 1989, and shared a devoted marriage until his passing in 2005.
After retiring from RadioShack, Kathy continued her strong work ethic and love for serving others by working for Target and with Visiting Angels, where her compassion and kindness blessed many families.
Faith was the cornerstone of Kathy’s life. For more than 30 years, she faithfully served at Hillside Memorial Christian Church as a deacon, board member, and Christian Youth Fellowship sponsor. She poured her heart into mentoring youth, supporting church leadership, and strengthening her church family through steady guidance and loving service.
Kathy was a proud and dedicated mother who was deeply involved in her son’s activities. She served as Booster Club President for the Junior Cadet Corps at Wedgewood Middle School and for the JROTC program at North Crowley High School. Her leadership and encouragement positively impacted countless students and families.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Sheid; beloved son, Justin Ryan Burt of Fort Worth; brother, David Jay Miller of Fort Worth; sister-in-law Becky Burt; sister-in-law Martha Burt and her honorary brother, Rudy Abila of Fort Worth. She is also survived by her aunt, Pat Gill of Celina, Texas; her uncle, Steve Long of Afton, Missouri; and her uncle, Winston Burkman of Fort Worth, Texas.
Kathy will be remembered for her steadfast faith, generous heart, and unwavering commitment to those she loved. Her life was a testament to service, devotion, and grace. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew her.
