Lelia Anetta "Ann" Nowell, 82, of Everman, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2024 surrounded by family. She was born on August 19, 1941 in Lampasas County, Texas, to the late Lee Edward Wilson and Uva Edna Wilson. Ann was a beloved wife of 64 years to Charles Nowell and a devoted mother to her children Kevin (Kimberly) Nowell, Keith Nowell, and Kimberly (Marty) Quirk.
Ann will be deeply missed by her cherished grandchildren Nick, Amanda, Collin, Kyndall, and Logan, as well as her adored great-grandchildren Ally, Everett, Emma, and Penelope. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, siblings Charles Wilson, Jerry Wilson, Leslie Wilson, Doug Wilson, Norma Satterfield, and Mary Flaharty, as well as her precious grandsons Ryan Colby Nowell, Andrew Nowell, and PJ Mansmann.
Ann was the matriarch of the family and the epitome of strength, and her tireless endeavors to care, guide, and uplift us punctuated every stage of our lives.
Ann attended Everman High School, where she met the love of her life, Charlie. Although her family initially questioned the boy who owned a motorcycle, they quickly changed their minds once his common sense skills and charm won them over. Following Ann’s education, she married and embarked on a career working for local doctor's offices and later in the accounting department for Everman ISD. However, her true joy and fulfillment came from creating a warm and nurturing home environment, where she welcomed family and friends with open arms and a loving heart, tolerating her kid’s shenanigans with an occasional side-eyed grin along the way.
Diagnosed with cancer in 2016, she fought bravely and courageously. She advocated for herself every step of the way, displaying her strength and resilience to all who had the pleasure of being in her presence. The Nowell family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at both Harris Hospital and Community Healthcare Hospice for their unwavering support during this difficult time.
A traditional memorial service will be held to honor the life and memory of Lelia Ann Nowell. In this time of reflection and remembrance, we kindly ask that you keep Ann’s spirit alive through acts of kindness and love.
During this time of profound loss we offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Lelia Ann Nowell. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her legacy of strength, love and kindness continue to inspire us all.
