Lisa Mavias Schmidt, age 53, of Keller, Texas, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 27, 1969. Lisa graduated from Grapevine High School and Dallas Baptist University. Devoted to her Orthodox Christian faith, Lisa was an active member of St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church and the church choir.
Lisa was blessed with a close and loving family. She was raised by her devoted parents, Mary and Michael, and guided by her older siblings, Deena and John. Lisa's immediate and extended Greek family was loud and fun, where every gathering was full of great food, rollicking cousins, roaring laughter, and lots of singing. It was this joyful upbringing that imbued Lisa with the effervescent personality that drew so many to her as a friend. And it was hard to resist being around Lisa, with her playful, yet wry, sense of humor and trademark laugh.
But it was the final decade of her life that was the most rewarding for her. In this time, she met and wed her devoted partner, James. Lisa and James lived with nonstop energy and shared the joys of each other's big family, their beloved cats, with a constant stream of friends, parties, food, fun, and laughter. With James, Lisa lived her life in full, experiencing highs and lows together, supporting each other's ambitions and pursuits, and defining each other as husband and wife. It is impossible to think of Lisa without James, and James without Lisa.
A special blessing was Lisa’s close bond with James’s children and grandchildren. To Hunter and Ally, Lisa was an abiding friend and mentor who always brought fun and laughter. And she was able to experience the growth of James’ grandson Cayden and the recent birth of his grandchild Hunter, Jr.
Lisa is survived by her loving and devoted husband, James; parents Mary and Michael Mavias of Trophy Club, Texas; sister Deena (Dean) of Painesville, Ohio; brother John (Maria) of Euless, Texas; niece Stefanie; nephew Steven; along with her loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear lifelong friends.
