Louine B. McCasland, aged 89, was born August 8, 1936, in Pleasant Grove Community of Mills County, Texas, to O.K. and Oleta Cox Berry, and went to be with the Lord on September 10, 2025, in Crowley, Texas.
Louine married her husband, Van, on January 14, 1956, at the First Baptist Church of Goldthwaite, Texas. They moved to Crowley, Texas in 1957, and made it their home. She took great pride in her gardens, and their home became known for her beautiful flowers. Everyone who drove down Main Street knew their home.
Louine loved her family and cherished her time with them. If you were to ask her, she would say her greatest achievement was her family. She had a life-long love of sewing, and made many outfits for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved to bake and cook and always made sure there were treats waiting for her grandchildren and great grandchildren when they would visit. She enjoyed spending time baking with her great grandchildren. She enjoyed attending the many events of her children, grandchildren, and great children. She never missed any of Russell or Lou Ann’s many events. She loved Christmas and made sure that each year was filled with memories for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her devout love of Van set an example for her family of what a Christian marriage is and how to genuinely love your spouse. She shared her faith and love of God with her family and covered them in prayer daily.
Louine had been member of the First United Methodist Church of Crowley, Texas since the 1960s, and was a devout Christian. She held many roles in the church throughout the years, and especially loved working with Spirit Moves and teaching Sunday School in the Children’s Division. She served on the Lord’s Acre Committee in numerous positions throughout the years.
Louine was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. All who knew her were blessed by her friendship.
Louine was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Van McCasland; her children, Russell McCasland (Gayla) and Lou Ann McCasland Fitzgerald (John); grandchildren, Casey Fitzgerald, Chanda Fitzgerald Brown, Misty McCasland, Matt McCasland, Colbie McCasland McReynolds (Tyler); and great grandchildren, Kennedy Dudley, Cutter Brown, Jacie Faith Brown, and Nash Duke.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the First United Methodist Church Children’s Division in memory of Louine McCasland.
