Lyn was born October 21,1956, to Meda and Mack Gordon of Amarillo, Texas. She attended schools in Clovis, New Mexico, from first grade through 12th grade, graduating from Clovis High School in May of 1974. Lyn then moved to Amarillo to begin nursing school at Amarillo Junior College. She graduated in 1976 and began her nursing career at Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospital in Amarillo.
In 1978, Lyn and her best friend Kem moved to Dallas, Texas. Lyn was immediately hired at Parkland Hospital, and started work the next day. In 1983, Lyn married Daniel Dugan of Bedford and she subsequently moved there. She continued working at Parkland until they adopted the first of their two girls. Paige was born on January 30, 1987. Berkley followed nearly three years later on October 19, 1989.
After a long stint as a stay at home mom, Lyn went back to work at Digestive Health Associates in Bedford. She worked at that center from 2009 to 2017. Her declining health due to Scleroderma forced her to retire, and this disease ultimately took her from us on March 2, 2022. She passed away in her home.
Lyn loved her husband, Tom, dearly and they were happily married for nearly six years. Tom will continue to live in Bedford and will remain a vital part of the family.
Lyn loved the Lord, and served in His word everyday. Lyn also loved her family and her friends with all of her heart. She loved all animals, but horses were especially important to her. She had to let go of her precious horse, Grace, as she was no longer able to ride. Her medical condition did not diminish her spirit, however she eagerly began to look forward to heaven more each day.
Lyn is survived by her husband Tom, her two daughters, Paige of Bedford and Berkley of Grapevine, stepson Adam Light of Plano, and her stepdaughter Regan of Dallas. She is also survived by her mother, Meda Gordon of Hurst, and her two sisters Shelly Stewart of Lake Wales, Florida, and Gae Strange of Amarillo. Additionally, Lyn has three nephews, one great niece, numerous cousins and many, many friends.
