Lynda was born March 7, 1943, in Abilene to J.L. and Anita Waltrip. She was a graduate of Paschal High School and attended North Texas State University. Lynda retired in 2013 from the Child Study Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jim Waltrip.
Survivors: Daughter, Angela Sumruld and husband, Paul; granddaughter, Amanda Akin and husband, Tyson; granddaughter, Valerie Gould and husband, Tom; grandson, Ryan Moody; five great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins.
