

Lynniel "Lynn" Lanoy Thrash, a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away at his home in Burleson, Texas on July 27, 2025, at the age of 97. Lynn was born on February 21, 1928, in Vernon, Texas, to Charles Clay Thrash and Ceusie Elizabeth Thrash.
Lynn lived a life filled with faith, love, and service. He was a triple veteran, serving his country in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, with his military career spanning the Merchant Marines, Marine Corps, and Air Force. Lynn was also a proud graduate of Abilene Christian University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree.
A man of deep faith, Lynn touched the lives of many people through his role as a World Bible School teacher. He could often be found praying or telling others about Jesus, and he was always thankful for his many blessings.
Lynn had a love for music, performing with multiple choral groups including the Texas Festival Chorus and the ISO Symphony of New York in concert at Carnegie Hall. He also enjoyed golf (especially his hole-in-one at Mountain Valley Country Club in Joshua), woodworking, and reading. He cherished time spent with his loved ones, including his many caring neighbors and their dogs, enjoying games like Rummikub with family or taking his dachshund, Jilli, for walks around the neighborhood. His gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Lynn was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret Louise Thrash; his parents, Charles Clay Thrash and Ceusie Elizabeth Thrash; his siblings, Hilda Toles and Guinn Thrash; and his
great-grandson, Conner Thrash.
He is survived by his siblings, Charles Thrash and Iris Brigman (Henry); his children: Linda Edwards (Jack), Suzanne Gentry (Steve), Mike Thrash (Laurie), and Greg Thrash (Brenda); his grandchildren: Lance Ward, Lanna Ward, Laura Tidwell (Travis), Tyler Boyd, Jarrod Boyd, Josh Thrash (Jenna), and Chandler Thrash; and his great-grandchildren: Collin Thrash, Audrey Tidwell, and Grayson Tidwell.
A funeral service will be held to celebrate Lynn's life Thursday at 11:00 am at Burleson Church of Christ 1150 NW John Jones , Burleson ,TX 76028 , Visiting prior to service at 10:30am.
