Margaret Anne Wall was born in 1943 in Huntsville, TX. She attended Pascal High School and volunteered as a candy-striper at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth. She studied at TCU's Harris College of Nursing, receiving her RN in 1965.
Anne married Samuel B. Stewart, II in 1965. She was a school nurse in Mainz, Germany and upon returning to the United States, while Sam served in Vietnam, she was a postpartum nurse at Arlington Memorial Hospital. She continued working part time in Austin and later in Houston until their divorce in 1975 when she returned to full-time work to support her three young children.
In 1976, she suffered a severe injury that required extensive rehabilitation. During her rehabilitation, she earned a Master of Nursing degree with a focus in Neurology. She later earned a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification and specialized in Neuro-Rehabilitation. She spent many years working in ICUs, and was a co-owner in her own clinic where she treated under-served populations. She ended her career in long-term care.
On October 23, 2006, Anne suffered a hemorrhagic aneurysm that led to a cascade of neurological failures, leading to her residence in Windsor Care Center. She remained comfortable and regularly visited by loving family members.
Anne is survived by her brother David M. Wall, M.D., ex-husband Samuel B. Stewart, II, and children: Alice J. Stewart, Daniel M. Stewart, CPA, John A. Stewart, and grandchildren: Colin Stewart, Samantha Talamantez, and Morgan Stewart.
Anne is predeceased by her brother Charles M. Wall, PhD, her parents Basil M. Wall, PhD and Margaret R. Wall (nee Propes), John T. and Gladys Propes (uncle/aunt), and Weldon D. Propes (uncle).
Anne leaves behind a legacy of wit, intelligence, hard work, frugality, tenaciousness, faithfulness, and forgiveness. Anne has fallen asleep in this world, and in faith we pray that she awakens into the loving arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
