

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband Don Smith, four brothers, Frank Marymee, Dave Marymee, Robert Marymee, Wes Marymee, one sister Shirley Robinson, and a grandson Joshua Smith. Maxine was the last living sibling of her family.
In the early 1930’s, her parents Elmer and Josephine Marymee came to America from Czechoslovakia to farm in Nebraska during the depression. Several years later they moved to Kearney Nebraska where Maxine attended Kearney State Teacher’s College. After graduating, Maxine began her career of teaching.
Maxine soon met her future husband Don Smith who was in the Navy. Maxine and Don were united in marriage, March 6, 1955, in Kearney Nebraska. They were married 65 years.
Maxine taught at various schools in married life. Cities such as Ft. Lupton Colorado, Boulder Colorado, Big Springs Nebraska, Elm Creek Nebraska, and a one-room country schoolhouse in Kearney Nebraska. Maxine spent considerable time teaching special needs children in McAlester, Oklahoma.
Late in her life, Don and Maxine managed several self-storage facilities in the Texas and Tennessee areas. She will be greatly missed.
Interment will be in Memphis Tennessee at The Veteran’s Cemetery since her husband, Donald Smith was a Korean War Veteran.
Those left to remember her life include: 3 sons, Kelly (Gayle) of Ormond Beach, Florida, Calvin (Stephania) of Cleburne, Texas, Kevin (Lora) of Wylie, Texas.
Grandchildren: Rebekah (Michael), David (Katie), Mari-Parker, Sawyer, Madison, Mackensie, Mayson, Lori, Lacy, Bristyl, Emirsyn, Oliver, Hatcher, Charlee, Cru, Taylor (Caleb), Ryan, Aaron, Kaitlynn.
Great-Grandchildren: Jaxon, Lyrik, Ivorie, Emersyn, Ruben, Alexander, Braydon, Kenzi, Blaykin, Kya, Sophie, Saylir, Paxton.
Great-Great Grandchildren: Ariah, Asiah.
In addition to many beloved nieces and nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers: Tanner Young, Mayson Smith, Zeke Ibarra, Christopher Stevens, Kaitlynn Smith, Taylor Golightly.
