Michael Vondell Dalton Sr., known to his family as “Mick-Daddy” was born on September 30, 1945 to the union of Amos and Lutichia Dalton. He graduated from DuSable High School in Chicago, Illinois. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He married the love of his life Eylonda McCrary on November 24, 1977.
Mickey was an avid self-taught saxophonist and a lover of jazz music. He was a prolific poetic, coupled with his love for dancing, serving as the foundation for romancing the love of his life for decades to come. Mickey's love for cooking served as the center piece for many family gatherings. He took pride in teaching life-long skills to his family such as preparing/cooking meals and the strategies of playing card games which became a tradition during family gathering. Seeing the joy on their faces was priceless and meant the world to him.
Mickey relocated from Louisville, Kentucky to Arlington, Texas where he became a member and faithfully attended New Life Fellowship, under the leadership of Dr. Maurice Pugh. Mickey transitioned from earth to eternal rest on January 25, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers (Patrick and Donnie Dalton).
Until we meet again, he leaves his love to cherish his memories: Proverbs 31st wife, Eylonda Dalton; five children, Gina, RaSheed, Maalik, Desiree, and Michael Dalton Jr.; eight grandchildren, Maalik Dalton Jr., Keith D. Pinckney Jr., Mar’Shon, Manyea, Michael Dalton III, Rasheeda Dalton, Brianna Lowe, and Crescent Dalton; two sisters; Shauntel and Candace Dalton; one great-grand daughter Kyndal Dalton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
