Norma Mae Alexander, age 60, of Arlington, Texas, After a storied life full of grace and honor, our Lord Jesus Christ called Norma to receive her heavenly wings as she transitioned from time into eternity on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, while peacefully surrounded by beloved family and friends. Norma was born December 23, 1959 in Fort Worth, Texas, a beautiful baby girl was born to the union of Ezell and Pauline Allison. At an early age, Norma accepted Christ and was an active member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas, where she sang in the choir, served in Sunday School and attended B.T.U. activities. In 1993, she joined Cornerstone Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas, Then later joined the Encounter Church in 2014 and served until she was unable due to health challenges. As a member of the 1977 graduating class of Eastern Hills High School, Norma performed with the "Lassies" drill team, participated in ROTC and other extracurricular activities. Upon graduation, Norma attended Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas, where she majored in Healthcare. In 2018, Norman married her best friend and the love of her life, Michael Alexander. As a woman of virtue and strong faith, she helped change many lives. Anyone who knew Norma could attest to her undeniable love for family and her commitment to ensuring their happiness. In her spare time, she loved to travel, spend time with her husband, children, grandchildren and family. A beautiful woman with a radiant smile, Norma's laughter and personality was a "gift" that could command any room. She was affectionately called "Nana" by her beautiful grandchildren and who was also loved and cherished by family and friends. Norma will leave a legacy of laughter, love, tremendous faith and strength, and she will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Michael Alexander; her parents, Ezell and Pauline Allison; her children, Cory Fittsgill (Krystal) and Jessica Criss (Taryn); stepson, Ronald Gill; close relative, Verleeta Brooks (Kenneth); 13 grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers are Titus Shaw, Kenneth Brooks, David Daniels, Michael Diego, Kenneth Traylor, Leonard Williams, Cory Fittsgill Sr, Taryn Criss Sr, Jimmie Robinson and Richard Ford-Rudolph.
