Nova was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1934 and raised in Arkansas. She moved to Fort Worth, Texas, as a teenager. She did secretarial work for the Texas Jewish Post newspaper and as a retail associate at J.C. Penney’s, where she met her future husband of 61 years, Lowell Allison, founder of Allison Contractors.
As an avid swimmer, Nova taught water aerobics. She was also a Camp Fire leader for 6 years and volunteered at Harris Methodist Hospital. She and Lowell were long-time members of Handley United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, where she was very active.
Nova will be greeted in heaven by her husband, Lowell (Sam) Allison, and her daughter, Belinda Dianne Allison Morton.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra Allison of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Matthew and Allison Morton of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and 2 great-grandchildren, Kris and Nolan Morton also of Grand Rapids.
