Ollie P. Bridges, 88 reposed to the Lord on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2020.
Mrs. Bridges was the Widow of the late Elmer T. Bridges after 42 wonderful years. She was the 11th child born February 18, 1932 in Malakoff, Texas to William F. and Millie L. Allen. She was saved at the age of 12 and was baptized in a stock pond. Ollie Pearl received her formal education in Malakoff public schools, then received a college scholarship and graduated from Prairie View A&M University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in May 1950 and her Masters of Education in June, 1960. She taught school in FWISD for 37 years. Ollie moved to Fort Worth in 1950 and met the love of her life.
She was affectionately known as “Aunt Ollie”. On Thanksgiving Day she could be found at a local Mission serving dinner. Years ago, she started a “Just Say No To Drugs” Club in the Community and held a garage sale for her street for 11 years. She placed her membership at Beth Eden Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. B.R. Daniels, Pastor. We take comfort in knowing Ollie is at a place and welcomed to his Kingdom, where we all will gather home with his Angels.
Left to cherish her memories (Survivors) brother, C.V. (Uncle Bill) Allen, Fort Worth, Tx.; step daughters, Helen Louise Jones (Rev. James Jones, Sr.), Houston, Tx. And Janette Anderson (Ronald Anderson), Houston, Tx.; god children, Lawrence Allen, Perdridra May, Jerretta Holmes, Rodrick Henderson, Rev. Jerret Holmes and Kevin Goff; eight grandchildren and scores of loving nephews, nieces, cousins, church family, neighbors and friends.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.gwspencerdirs.net for the Bridges family.
