Patricia Prickette Dunn beloved wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at home in Lake Worth, Texas on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and family heritage that will be cherished for generations.
Born to Gerald L. Prickette and Gladyce Mozelle Saunders Prickette, Patricia was raised in a loving and close-knit family alongside her siblings, Pamela Tucker and Gerald S. Prickette. Her mother, Gladyce, originally from China Spring, Texas, had a long and respected career as a credit manager, and her father, Gerald, was a dedicated family man from Waco, Texas and professional traveling salesman for Ben E. Keith Company. Patricia carried forward their values of integrity, compassion, and commitment throughout her life.
Patricia attended Waco High School and graduated from Baylor University in 1958 with a degree in English. Patricia loved her many German Shorthaired Pointers more than most other humans.
Patricia was first married to Allison U. Weaver, with whom she shared the joy of raising their only son, Michael Allison Weaver. She taught high school English in West Texas and Houston before starting a career in the marine insurance industry where she met Philip. Michael and his wife, Abigail Wells and her daughters Verity and Amity, brought immense pride and happiness to Patricia’s life. She was a devoted and loving grandmother to Michael Taylor Weaver and his wife Lacey Lynette Weaver, and to Allison Norman and her husband Dustin Norman. Patricia’s heart was fullest when surrounded by her great-grandchildren: Lyla, Coleman, and Flint, whose laughter and energy brought her great joy in her later years.
In 1980, Patricia married Philip A. Dunn, with whom she shared forty-five happy years. His daughters Andrea and Phyllis quickly became the daughters she never had. Together, they built a life in Houston centered on family, faith, Cowboy football, GSPs and friendship. Philip’s daughter and son-in-law Phyllis and Howard Lisby have graciously carried the lion’s share of the elder care of this loving couple in the last three years. Patricia and her family have been assisted by the compassionate elder care of Brittney Gilbert, Maria Velasquez, Shakirah Mosley, and Mary Dean.
Patricia will be remembered for her warmth, grace, unmatched ability to forgive sinners in her life and an unwavering devotion to those she loved. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued, and her home was always a place of comfort, laughter and connection. Her legacy lives on in the lives of her family, who will carry forward her spirit of kindness, quick wit and strength.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Gladyce Prickette and by Andrea Dunn Theilengerdes.
She is survived by her siblings Pamela of Fort Worth, her children Steven, Scott and Stacy and their children of Bedford, Fort Worth, and Arlington and Gerald S. (Anne) of Conroe; her son Michael (Abigail) and her daughters Verity and Amity of Frisco and Libby, the family’s last surviving GSP; Pat’s husband Philip of Lake Worth; her grandchildren Taylor (Lacey) of Coleman and Allison (Dustin) of San Antonio; and her great-grandchildren Lyla, Coleman, and Flint of Coleman; Philip’s daughter and son-in-law Phyllis (Howard) of Fort Worth.
A Memorial Service for Patricia will be held Monday, July 21, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Laurel Land - Rose Hill Funeral Home, 7301 East Lancaster Ave, Fort Worth, Texas 76112 where Patricia will be laid to rest alongside her family.
