Pearlie went peacefully to be with the Lord on December 28, 2021 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on February 8, 1943 at home to Robert and Pearletta Clarice Hatchett in Austin, TX. She was one of five children.
She was a woman of God, she received Christ as her Savior at an early age. Her church affiliations were Saint Andrews United Methodist Church, Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, and a current member of Forest Hill Church Of Christ.
She attended Our Mother of Mercy Catholic School in Fort Worth, TX and graduated from Saint Peter’s Catholic High School in Dallas, Texas. After graduation she got married and had 6 children to this union. Later, she met the love of her life, James Morgan and from this union they had one child. For over 50 years they traveled the United States and visited other countries together.
Pearlie worked for General Dynamics in Fort Worth, TX, R.L. Smith Trucking, Company in Saginaw, TX, Texas Instruments in Lewisville, TX, and Motorola in Fort worth, TX. After retiring and becoming a housewife, she started caring for children in her home and devoted herself full time to this calling. She started her daycare to help single mothers and then expanded it to help all. She wanted to make daycare affordable for families, because she knew how expensive it was. She treated every child like one of her own.
Her house on Griggs Ave was known as The Community House, where many were welcomed and stayed for as long as they needed or just wanted to stay. Throughout her life she helped raise and mentor many children, until her health started to decline. For the past two years she lived in Mansfield, TX
Pearlie’s father(Robert Eugene), mother (Pearletta Clarice), brothers (Rodney and Donald) and sister (Janice), preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memories: Her husband James A. Morgan Sr, her children; Charlotte Rodgers, Machelle Epps (Kelvin), Wendell Rodgers (Mary), Sharon Kimble (Larry Sr.), Robert Rodgers Sr. (Trina), Lisa Rodgers, Toyshell Jackson (Archie), step-children: Jeanette Morgan and James Morgan Jr.; her sister Rita Hatchett and sister-in-law, Ruth Hatchett, her god daughter she raised Mearlean Risper.
