

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm t0 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Laurel Land - Rose Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will be held at 10 am on Friday, March 13, 2026, with Reverend Michael Burton of Bowie Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will follow at Laurel Land - Rose Hill Memorial Park.
Peggy was born in Gainesville, TX to Benny and Aline Snofsky on July 11, 1938. She graduated from Polytechnic High School in Ft. Worth, TX and from Tarrant County College with an associate’s degree. Peggy married Carl Dawson on December 1, 1956 in Ft. Worth, TX and worked as a civil servant for the Department of Defense at General Dynamics for many years. Peggy was involved in the Business and Professional Women’s Association of Ft. Worth throughout her working career. She was an avid bowler, loved to travel, enjoyed gardening both indoors and out, and always looked forward to trips to the casinos.
Peggy is preceded in death by her Husband, Carl Dawson, Son Larry Dawson, Father Benny Snofsky, Mother Aline Snofsky, Brother Joe Snofsky, and Sister Judy Sears.
Peggy is survived by Daughters Patty Hummer and Debbie Calhoun (husband Johnny). Sister-in-Law Pam Dawson. Grandchildren Mallory Hummer-Snodgrass (husband Brian), Tori Hummer (husband Huntley Lewis), Mary Tryon (husband William), Lindsey Burton (husband Michael), and Kathryn Calhoun. Great grandchildren Kyler Tryon, Jayden Tryon, Makayla Burton, Landon Burton, Leighton Burton, and Maddox Burton. Several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Calhoun, William Tryon, Kyler Tryon, Jayden Tryon, Brian Snodgrass, and Huntley Lewis.
