Ray Ady

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm on Monday 2/10/2025 at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel & Cemetery (7301 East Lancaster Avenue Fort Worth, Tx 76112) with Marcia Nikl of Arlington First Church of the Nazarene officiating.

Ray was born in Burkburnett, Texas to James Butler Ady and Jessie Audria Ady on 12/24/1937. He attended school at Burkburnett. He married Helen Clyde Stokesberry on 5/13/1978 at the Fort Worth Rose Garden. Ray graduated from University of Texas, Arlington. Ray started his career the day after he graduated from high school as a Wichita lineman at Texas Electric and later worked as a Power Distribution Technician and Troubleshooter. Ray was actively involved in Arlington First Church of the Nazarene and the fellowship mission at Fox Run and The Prestonwood Baptist Church online LifeGroup and Bible Study. Ray received many awards and achievements.

Ray is preceded in death by his wife and love of his life, Helen Ady; his father and mother, James Butler Ady and Jessie Audria Ady; his three sisters, Mildred Tedder and husband, C. A.; Donna Sloan and husband, Eugene; Delma Johnson and husband, Tommy.

Ray is survived by Sherri Ann Stokesberry Thomas, Larry Stokesberry and wife, Debbie, Stanley Mark Stokesberry; grandchildren, Kimberly Thomas, Brian Thomas, Nicole Wylie and husband, David, Lucas Stokesberry; great grandchildren, Drew Wylie and Kate Wylie; and son, Danny Ray Ady and wife, Martina; daughter, Diane Marie Harrison and husband, Joe; grandchildren, Michael David Ady and wife, Tommie, Mark Allen Ady and wife, Brandy, Lisa Ann Ady, Laura K. Ady, Greg Dewitt, Monica Dewitt, Trey Harrison and wife, Jamie, Cassey Weldon and husband, Justin.
