The story of Robbie Rocheral Ervin's life began Tuesday, June 21, 1959 in Fort Worth, Texas. God blessed Elder Nathaniel Ervin, SR. and Josephine Ervin to continue their lineage by bringing forth a beautiful baby girl. She was the ninth of ten children born to this union. What a joy this child brought to this family. During this time young Robbie did what most children do: she went to school, to church and was taught the basics of her religious faith at an early age. She loved people and with her effervescent smile and outgoing personality, she easily made friends. Robbie began her education at ML Kirkpatrick Elementary School and after her family relocated, she graduated from Paul L. Dunbar High School in Fort Worth as a member of The Class of 1977. Robbie then attended Tarrant County Junior college in Fort Worth. Robbie learned cooking from her mother and her sisters growing up in the Eastwood area of Fort Worth, because of her love of cooking she was hired by the Kroger Company as a deli clerk and cake decorator. Later, Robbie was employed by the Texas Department of Transportation. Robbie, with partner Elbert "Tootsie" Sanders, was blessed with three children: a bouncing baby girl, Monique Ervin, a handsome young king, Montreal Ervin and a beautiful princess Monya Ervin. Of course, Robbie was overjoyed with her children and loved them dearly. During Robbie's journey through life, she experienced both good and many difficult days. As her health began to fail her, the Lord said, "That's enough" He took her by the hand and said "The time of your departure is at hand." The divine mandate for your life has been fulfilled. Come with me and take your rest" On Saturday, November 2, 2024, Robbie transitioned from this world leaving a legacy of faith for her children, grandson, family and friends. Robbie was preceded in death by her parents; Nathaniel, Sr. and Josephine Ervin; brothers, Willie, Joe, Larry, Nathaniel,Jr., Gary and one sister, Charity Baker.
Robbie leaves to cherish her precious memories her three children; Monique Ervin, Montreal Ervin and Monya Ervin; her loving grandson, Elijah McGrew; her sisters, Betty Alexander (Hoppie), Angela Warren; brother, Paul Ervin; beloved nieces and nephews and a host of loving relatives and friends.
