Robert Darryl Cain was born April 7, 1960, in St. Clair, Illinois the middle child of his seven siblings born to the parentage of the late Joseph Cain Sr. and Geneva Cain. Robert graduated from O.D. Wyatt High School in Fort Worth in 1979 and pursued his higher education at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, TX on a full football scholarship.
He worked many years in the logistics field. He was a shipping and Receiving Manager at Design Plastics Inc, for 21 years. He then transitioned to Lasko Products Inc as their Logistics Outbound Manager for the last 10 years.
Robert was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Esther Cain for sixteen years. He was an avid bowler and even had a banner in his honor for scoring a perfect score of 300. Robert was a devoted and loving father to his daughters and was loved and respected by all his nieces and nephews. He channeled his love of football and his community into coaching little league football where he touched and inspired many young lives and will always be affectionately known to some as Coach Cain. His hobbies included fishing, bowling, golfing, singing and dancing and he was a die-hard Cowboys fan.
Robert passed peacefully, Monday May 10, 2021, at the age of 61. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Joseph and Geneva Cain, his niece, Dessandra Cain and his nephew Donald “Tadpole” Cain Jr. He is survived by his wife Esther Cain, three daughters Candace Cain, Krystal Shepherd, and Victoria Brown (Kenney), seven grandchildren, Tyronique, Jordyn, RianAshlee, Tyrese, Austin, Robert Jr., and Karter, three stepchildren, Karla Tawab (Abdul), Patty Almaguer (Hector), Juan Luis, three brothers, Joseph Cain Jr. (Sherrie), Elder Kenneth Cain (Barbara), Donald Ray Cain Sr. (Connie), three sisters, Sheila Cain, Cassandra R. Williams (Leroy) and Trina M. Davis (Robert), 2 godchildren, Shayl Cain and Brandon Denton, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Services for Robert will be held at Samaria Baptist Church at 10:00 am at 4000 East Berry Fort Worth, TX. 76105. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park 8301 Mansfield Hwy, Arlington, TX. 76001.
