

Roque was known for his kind, funny, loving, honest, and trusting nature. He had a deep love for reading books, watching air shows and western movies, and cheering on his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys. He was also a great dancer, lighting up the floor with his rhythm and charm — a talent that brought smiles and joy to those around him.
He proudly served his country as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. A dedicated and proud soldier, he often shared that he wished he could have made one last jump.
More than anything, Roque was the best father and an amazing Papaw. His love for his family knew no limits, and his presence brought comfort, wisdom, and joy to those around him. He was a steady rock and a gentle guide whose memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
Roque was married for 26 years to Sharon Garza, who preceded him in death in 2022. Together, they built a life filled with love and devotion to family.
He is survived by his sons, Ralph Garza and Rocky Garza Jr., and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. His sisters, Dolores Fernandez and Angie Castillo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Garza; his parents, Ignacio Garza and Angelita Hernandez; and siblings Isidrío Garza, Juan Garza, and Mary Pantoja.
Roque’s legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
