

The Sun Rose and brought forth a beautiful baby boy. Roy Ray Perry, born on Monday, June 5, 1944 the 3rd child to the parents, Roy and Lucille Perry in Waco, Texas. Being a middle child, he enjoyed spending time with his older siblings and being a protector over the younger ones. He loved going to church and at a very young age he confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was a faithful member and Deacon at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Roy graduated from Moore High School and attended Paul Quinn College.
Roy later met Lula Johnson and they were married on July 19, 1964. Spending 60 wonderful years together.
Born and raised in Waco, Texas, Roy took a job at the Post Office in Fort Worth, Texas and after spending months driving from Waco To Fort Worth for work, he decided to move his family to Fort Worth, Texas.
Leaving 25 years of employment at the Post Office, he went to work for Miller Brewing Company for 29 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lucille Perry; sister, Ruth Ella Tate; brothers, Bobbie Perry and Ronnie Perry; granddaughter, Jasmine Kennard.
He leaves to cherish his memory; wife, Lula Perry; daughters, Deitra Dorsey, Latash Perry, and Davina Perry; son, Rayford Perry; grandkids, Miaya Perry, Mekiya (DC) Chambers, Tenetra (Andre) Perry, Rayford Perry, Jr., Tenesha (Harold) Hubbard and Meshaylen Hawthorne; great grandkids, Mekhi, Mekaila, TaRayia, Cayden, Andre, Jr., A'Darian, Zayden, Za'Layia, Za'Leah; great great granddaughter, Meleia; sister, Martha Degrate; brothers, Willie Perry and Arthur Perry; brother-in-law, Ervie (Carolyn) Johnson; sister-in-law, Jenell Foster and a host of other relatives and friends.
