Samuel was born on November 1, 1945, in Doniphan, Missouri. He lived a full and faithful life marked by devotion—to his family, his work, and most importantly, his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Rosalinda Grubb, with whom he shared over 47 years of marriage. He was a proud and loving father to Mark Herrera, Sam William Grubb, Michele Herrera, Michael DeAnda, Stacey Grubb, Matthew Grubb, Kimberly Grubb Youngblood, and Karen Peri. He was also a cherished “Pa-Paw” to his 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride.
Samuel was preceded in death by his mother, Pam Bronner; his son, Stephen Grubb; and his twin newborn sons.
He built a remarkable career as an aeronautical engineer, contributing his talents to companies such as General Dynamics, McDonnell Douglas, Bell Helicopter, Boeing, and Lockheed Martin. His work in avionics on the B-2 stealth bomber, Air Force One, and the Osprey reflected his intelligence, discipline, and dedication—qualities that defined every area of his life.
Beyond his career, Sammy will be remembered for his strength, steady presence, and deep love for his family. He was a man of conviction and quiet generosity—someone who showed up, stood firm, and loved unconditionally. He found joy in the simple things, especially fishing, riding mountain bikes, and spending time racing motorcycles with his son, Matt—moments that created lasting memories and reflected the bond they shared. He was also a devoted sports fan who loved cheering on his Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and Texas Tech Red Raiders, rarely missing a chance to watch his teams play. Whether through these experiences, shared laughter, or unwavering support, he left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew him.
His faith was the cornerstone of his life. As a regular volunteer at Center Point Church, Sam lived out his beliefs daily, pointing others to Christ not just in word, but in action. His life was a testimony of steadfast faith, humility, and service. One of his most cherished scriptures was Isaiah 40:31: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles…”
Though our hearts are broken, we find peace in knowing he is now whole, healed, and in the presence of his Savior—
My chains are gone, I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy reigns
Unending love
Amazing grace
Sammy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. His absence leaves a profound void, but his legacy of faith, love, and strength will live on in all who were blessed to know him.
