Sheila Evette Hill was born on May 7, 1962, to Al Dean Lett and Annie Clyde Hill in LaGrange, Georgia. She was the eldest of five siblings. Sheila welcomed her first child, Trines Latrone Hill, before graduating from LaGrange High School where she was an all-star basketball player. She went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree in political science from Alabama State University - the first college graduate of her family. While at Alabama State University, Sheila joined the sisterhood of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. She loved sporting her Zeta blue.
After college, Sheila married her college sweetheart, Michael A. Bush of St. Petersburg, Florida. One child, Brandi Kynera Bush, was born of the marriage. In Florida, she began working as a probation and parole officer for the department of corrections. She later divorced and moved to Texas where she continued to work as a parole officer in Dallas.
Shortly after moving to Texas, Sheila answered the call of God on her life. She attended Jerry Savelle Ministries International Bible College and became an ordained minister shortly thereafter. She believed that she was commissioned to take healing and deliverance to the world with a word spoken in due season. Sheila founded L.A.C.E. Ministries in 1994 and Girl Talk We Talk Ministries in 2010. She was a devoted member of Heritage of Faith Christian Center, committed to being an ambassador of Christ spreading the gospel to all who had ears to hear. Sheila later took up a profession in education. When she wasn’t preaching the gospel, she was making a positive impact on countless lives as a teacher for the Fort Worth Independent School District.
Everyone who knew Sheila knows she loved sports. Some of her favorite teams to watch throughout the years were the San Antonio Spurs, New England Patriots, and the Atlanta Falcons. Sheila also enjoyed traveling to watch her daughter play basketball from middle school through college and was looking forward to doing the same with her grandchildren.
Sheila was the proud mother of Trines Latrone Hill of LaGrange, Georgia and Brandi Kynera Bush Percy (James Percy) of Burlington, North Carolina. She also leaves behind five grandchildren: Chrystion Hill, Kristiana Hill (United States Army), Braeden Percy, Jayden Percy, and Kamden Percy. She was preceded in death by both parents and grandparents. Sheila also leaves behind many beloved friends to cherish her memories, including but not limited to, her best friends Mrs. Dianne Lusk and Pastors Lufile and Fariala Ehambe.
Sheila’s light shined bright. Her presence was effervescent. She loved her family immensely and will be deeply missed. Her influence will live on for generations.
