Sidney Reed

Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Church of the Good Shepherd. Burial: will immediately follow in Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Tutoring at 2020 S. Collins, Arlington, Texas 76010.

Sidney was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His heart and soul were dedicated to family, educating children, and seeking God in everything.

He was a veteran of World War II and taught school in Fort Worth ISD for 30 years.

Sidney grew up in Fort Worth. He received both his college degrees at Texas Wesleyan. Some of the things he loved were traveling, camping, square dancing and gardening. He loved being with his family and engaging in discussions about religion and politics. After retiring from the school system, he was a volunteer tutor for the Hope Tutoring Program. He was an active member of Good Shepherd Methodist Church in Arlington for 46 years.

Survivors: He will be greatly missed by his wife, Nancy Reed; son, Jack Reed and wife, Yeing; daughter, Nancy Stansbury and husband, Jim; and his grandchildren, Hannah, Ethan and Emma.
