Steve, a native of Ft. Worth, Texas was born September 25, 1955 at Harris Methodist Hospital downtown where his mother was a registered nurse. He was the oldest of three children of George and Barbara Bishop and he grew up in the North Richland Hills area. As a boy he loved animals and played with his German Shepherd in the fields before it became Interstate Loop 820. Steve also had a love for music, sports and anything on wheels or with a motor on wheels. He played the guitar and then mastered the trumpet in the school band. Steve was the very first Vice President of Student Council of Watauga Junior High School which is now Watauga Middle School. And it was his idea of “Watauga Warriors” that the students voted on to be the school mascot. After Steve graduated from Richland High School in 1973 he attended Tarrant County Junior College. Mr. Bishop was an ASE Certified Master Technician. He loved working on cars so much that he opened his own automotive shop to help others get a good price with great service. He continued working as a master mechanic devoting nearly 40 years to automotive service.
