

Celebration of Life: 12:30pm Saturday at Pathway Church, 325 NW Renfro St., Burleson. Interment: Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Visitation: 5 to 8pm Friday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel.
Memorials: In honor of Stephen’s memory, gifts may be made to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas, or to Special Abilities of North Texas in Lewisville.
Stephen was born September 17, 1986 in Fort Worth to Randy and Julie McCurley. He graduated from Burleson High School. He was a member of Pathway Church where he served as Youth Sponsor and Guest Services. He attended Special Abilities of North Texas, and recently found much delight in his work as House Service Manager at Lambeau’s American Kitchen and Taps in Highland Village.
Stephen had a passionate love for the Lord and shared his faith with enthusiasm. His devotion and faith were inspiring for many. He lifted his voice in worship and never hesitated to raise his hands in praise. He had a servant’s heart and was always eager to help others. He made others feel loved with his sincere concern. Stephen was such an amazing example of being the hands and feet of Jesus to all.
He enjoyed joking around with friends and his laughter was contagious. He embraced life with exuberance and his smile lit up any room. His joy was apparent in the way he stretched his arms to embrace everyone with warmth, love, and genuine grace making others want to be better versions of themselves.
Stephen was an avid sports fanatic and could rattle off statistics for almost any sport. He was quick to challenge anyone on game day predictions for which he was frequently correct. He was often seen attending high school football games where he was known for cheering for the Elks and the Spartans.
Stephen’s hobbies included legos, video games, puzzles, and helping create cuisine masterpieces.
Survivors: Parents, Randy McCurley and Julie Dugan McCurley; brother, Christopher McCurley Berthelot and husband Matthew Berthelot; Grandparents, Tommy and Linda McCurley, and Beverly Dugan; Godparents, Charley and Kay Nation; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
