Tammy Cunkle, 60, a proud Fort Worth native, passed away March 22 following a short illness. The second of five children; Paul, Brent, Kim and Lori to parents David and Norma, she is preceded in death by her mother, sister Lori, brother Paul, and daughter Donna. She is survived by husband Greg and children Cristy, Katrina, David, and Christina, and her favorite people in the world: her grandchildren.
Her proudest professional achievements in life are her two associate’s degrees.
Her family was her passion. Tammy gave to everybody her wisdom, advice, support, and love. When her family hurt, she hurt with them. When they laughed, she laughed, because their happiness was her number one joy. She didn’t forget birthdays, anniversaries, or holidays. She knew what was important and didn’t squander an opportunity to make those around her feel loved and remembered.
Tammy gave of herself even when she had nothing to give. If you were hungry, she would give you her lunch. If you were cold, she offered her blanket. When you were scared, she offered a hug. She touched the lives of everybody she met. If you were blessed enough to run into her at the store, in line at the bank, or at the theater concession stand, she had a smile to give you. Her spirit was contagious. Like any angel, she had a way to make whatever insecurities you had feel like a strength of character.
With her passing, the world is a much emptier place. She wouldn’t want people to mourn her, but rather think of the laughter and love they shared with her.
A memorial service for Tammy will be held Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth, 7100 CROWLEY RD, FORT WORTH, TX 76134.
In lieu of flowers, we believe she would want people to donate to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital or a charity of their choice.
