

He was born on September 2nd, 1947 at Rockford Hospital in Havre de Grace, Maryland and was preceded in death by his father Leslie James Luce and his mother Rosemary Charles.
He spent the bulk of his childhood in Johnson City, NY and as a young man he moved to Texas where he has been ever since.
Tom has lived a full life surrounded by his family and friends. He had many interests and hobbies such as fishing, golfing and sports. His favorite sports team was the NY Giants and He enjoyed playing football, pole vaulting , track and wrestling in High School.
He enlisted in the Air Force after high school and served four years of active duty followed by five years of Army Reserves. He was an alumni of Dallas Baptist University.
He married his wife Shirley on February 18th, 1977 and built a life and family with three children.
He loved the Lord and was active in his church, volunteered with the local pack of Boy Scouts and assisted in coaching high school basketball.
He made a career out of Aviation with his primary interest in Helicopters and over the course of his 37 year career with Airbus Helicopters, Inc, where he was an inspector of quality assurance, Manager and DAR/FAA certified for aircraft flight worthiness.
He enjoyed traveling, visiting with his friends and spending time with his family. One of his greatest joys was his grandchildren.
Tom is survived by his wife Shirley, his brother John (LJ) Luce, and sister Rosalie Cutting , his sons Brian (Celia) Luce, Larry (Angie) Dickson and daughter Melanie (Charles) Golightly. His grandchildren Ashley (Casey) Ellis, Donovan Hawkins, Coleman Golightly, Devon Hawkins, Connor Golightly, Gavin Luce and Michaela Luce. His great grand children Tripp Ellis and Ariel Ellis.
He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him this side of Heaven but we rejoice in knowing his race has been run and he is home with his Lord and Savior and one day we will see him again fully restored and whole.
